Dear Ann Landers,
You have printed a few letters about outrageous medical bills, and I thought you might enjoy mine. When my father broke his hip, he received a statement from Medicare saying they could not pay his hospital bills because his employer would provide coverage. Ann, my father was 93 years old and in a nursing home. Exactly who was his employer supposed to be? A month after Dad passed away, he received a notice of cancellation of his benefits, saying the reason for termination was "death," and that if he had any questions, he was to appear IN PERSON to discuss the problem. What do you think of that? -- J.E. on the Web

Dear J.E.,
I'm not thinking. I'm plotzing!

Our Reader to Reader Question of the Week:

Dear Readers,
, it is impossible to maintain a good address and decent clothes and have money left to drive a car and do some interesting things. I am twenty- nine years old, unmarried, very good looking, and an en-gaging conversationalist. I would like to make myself avail-able (to high-type women only) for thirty dollars an evening plus expenses. I want only to serve as an escort, so please don’t assume anything beyond that. I have a new Corvette and well-cut clothes. Hundreds of women sit at home simply be-cause they do not know an attractive, respectable man who will take them out. I could give a woman a wonderful evening in exchange for this modest stipend. Will you help me to help them and myself at the same time?-R.D.
