Dear Ann Landers,
ccording to you, the boy who gets a girl in trouble walks off free as a bird while she is left to face the rap, usually alone and disgraced. It's not always that pat. I got a girl pregnant but didn't marry her because it would have been a disaster for us both. She knew it as well as I. We were worlds apart-intellectually, socially, and financially. But to this day (four years have passed) my conscience bothers me and I often think about her and that little boy who was put up for adoption. It's not easy to go from day to day knowing that somewhere you have a child you'll never see. Believe me, I didn't get off easy, Ann. The price was high.-Still Paying
Dear Still,
Since you and the girl were "worlds apart intel-lectually, socially, and financially," it's too bad you didn't stay worlds apart physically. Of course you didn't get off easy. Why should you?
