Dear Ann Landers,
e are having the same family fight for the third summer in a row. Our son is now eleven and since he was nine, I (his father) have felt that Delbert should go to camp. He doesn't want to go, and his mother says there is no reason we should insist. I wouldn't mind if the boy did some-thing constructive during the summer, but he stays up half the night watching TV and sleeps till noon. Then he nags his mother to take him swimming or to a movie. My wife says the child should not be forced to go to camp because he might feel rejected and this could damage his psyche for life. Your ad-vice is wanted.-The Singleton

Dear Singleton,
Your wife is raising a vegetable instead of a son, and you must share in the responsibility for whatever happens to him if you permit her to get away with it. I received a speedy reply from the mother:

Our Reader to Reader Question of the Week:

Dear Readers,
, whatever they needed I provided. What really hurt my son and I the most was the obituary - we were not mentioned at all. Our friends (mine and hers) were appalled. I was embarrassed and upset for not just me, but for my son-who loved her also. I never been so upset. Her x-husband put his wife and kids and their grandchildren in the obituary, who my girlfriend barely knew. They live an hour away from us. I know its silly to be mad over a little section of the newspaper, but it still hurts. Will time let this devastating loss of her and this article ever go away? I am so angry at this whole situation, its not like we can go and rewrite an obituary notice.

Tell us what you think?
