Dear Ann Landers,
y wife and I adopted a child from St. Peters-burg, Russia, last December. We went through an awful lot to get her, and the trip back and forth was emotionally and physically draining. Of course, it was well worth it, and we are immensely grateful for all the caring and support we have received from family and friends. ANN LANDERS On the plane from Frankfurt, Germany, some lovely people moved so the three of us could sit together. Our child, who was not quite 4 years old, was extremely well behaved, but she became upset every time my wife left her seat. By the time the flight ended, half the plane knew our entire story. When we landed in Adanta, the lady sitting behind my wife leaned over and handed her a $20 bill. My wife asked, "What is this for?" The woman replied, "I just wanted this to be the first $20 bill your child ever had." Ann, I would dearly love to get in touch with this woman and thank her and share some pictures of our child. The lady's name was Bea McGraw, but I never asked for her address or phone number. I'm not sure if she lived in Adanta or was catching a connecting flight. Maybe Bea will read this and get in touch with you. This was one of the nicest things I have ever experienced, and I would like to show Bea our gratitude. Thanks so much for helping us, Ann. -
