Dear Ann Landers, Am I justified in being upset with my mother or am I being adolescent ? I am seventeen and have been going with a wonderful fellow who is taking summer courses at a university. Ron has written some poems just for me. They are the most sensitive and exquisite words I have ever read. I learned this afternoon that my mother read several of Ron's poems to her Ladies Aid when they met at our home last week. When I told Mother I was shocked, she said, I thought the poems were so beautiful I wanted the ladies to hear them. Beautiful things belong to the world. I am disappointed, angry, and resentful. Comment please.-/.
Dear J.,
The poetry was written for you and not for the world, or the Ladies Aid. I wonder if your mother knows what M.Y.O.B. means?
