Dear Ann Landers, A girl I will call Rozetta has been my husband's secretary for three years. Rozetta is not just a secretary; she is more like an office manager. My husband says she has helped make his branch the best in the country and he owes her a great deal. Almost every Sunday my husband drives Rozetta to her sister's place, about forty miles from here. She stays there overnight and takes the bus back Mon-day morning. My husband is gone about three hours in all. I think this is out of line and have told him I would gladly pay the lady's bus fare out of my allowance if he would stop driving her. He insists the personal touch of going out of his way to do something nice for Rozetta is what makes it so meaningful. What do you say?-Minnie
Dear Minnie,
I say the personal touch is a touch too per-sonal. If your husband wants to do something nice for his secretary, tell him to try money.
