Dear Ann Landers,
ou seem to have it in for mothers-in- law. I'll bet anything yours is a pain in the neck. My only son married a little nothing. She is plain looking, has no style, no family background, no taste, can't cook, can't bake, her house is a mess. Yesterday I could stand it no longer so I said, "Lucille, dear, is there a reason for leaving that filthy dishrag in the sink?" She replied icily, "If it doesn't bother me why should it bother you?" One thing led to another and finally she said, "I resent your interfering in my life and I wish you would stop it." After all, Ann, I turned my son over to this girl, and I want her to do right by him. Was I wrong?-Just His Mother

Dear His Mother,
Yes. It's her home, her sink, and her dishrag, and you should not have said anything. As for my mother-in-law being a pain in the neck, you're mistaken. She's a gem. Twenty-nine years and never has she offered even one suggestion. Why don't you take a lesson from my mother-in- law?

Our Reader to Reader Question of the Week:

Dear Readers,
, whatever they needed I provided. What really hurt my son and I the most was the obituary - we were not mentioned at all. Our friends (mine and hers) were appalled. I was embarrassed and upset for not just me, but for my son-who loved her also. I never been so upset. Her x-husband put his wife and kids and their grandchildren in the obituary, who my girlfriend barely knew. They live an hour away from us. I know its silly to be mad over a little section of the newspaper, but it still hurts. Will time let this devastating loss of her and this article ever go away? I am so angry at this whole situation, its not like we can go and rewrite an obituary notice.
