Dear Ann Landers,
lease educate a lot of kids who have the wrong idea. Just because my dad works in a bank everyone expects me to be rich. The kids seem to think that people who work in banks can help themselves to money, just like people who work in a fruit market can pinch off a few grapes or eat an apple whenever they feel like it. Yesterday I was at a scout meeting and we were short $5.70 for the picnic budget. One 138 of the kids said, "Mel can get the money from his dad's bank." So please, Ann Landers, tell everybody that bank employees get a paycheck like schoolteachers and truck drivers, and sometimes the check isn't very big. The money in the bank belongs to the depositors, and it had better not be missing. Thank you.-Mel
Dear Mel,
Here's your letter and I think you told 'em better than I could. In case the kids don't know it maybe we'd better mention the bank examiners who come around every so often and check the books and count the money. If things don't add up right, somebody could go to jail.
