Dear Ann Landers,
ur twenty-year-old son returned home from college for Easter vacation. He said, "Mom and Dad, I hope you will be objective about this. I've got a date tonight. The girl is a sure thing. I know I can score. May I use my bedroom or are you going to force me to use the car?" We have two sons, Ann. The other boy is nineteen, and we are permitting them both to use their bedrooms. I feel we are being realistic and modem. Our friends are horrified. We know you are a moralist but we also know you are a realist. Express yourself, Madame.-Winnetka Parents

Dear Winnetka,
The fact that your sons would ask for permission to bring girls to their bedrooms tells me what they think of your morals. Your approval of this wild request is evidence that they did not misjudge you. If one of your "modem" sons gets a not-so-modem girl pregnant, will you be able to look her parents in the eye and accept your share of the responsibility? The following letter may well have been written by one of the girls who went to Winnetka.

Our Reader to Reader Question of the Week:

Dear Readers,
, whatever they needed I provided. What really hurt my son and I the most was the obituary - we were not mentioned at all. Our friends (mine and hers) were appalled. I was embarrassed and upset for not just me, but for my son-who loved her also. I never been so upset. Her x-husband put his wife and kids and their grandchildren in the obituary, who my girlfriend barely knew. They live an hour away from us. I know its silly to be mad over a little section of the newspaper, but it still hurts. Will time let this devastating loss of her and this article ever go away? I am so angry at this whole situation, its not like we can go and rewrite an obituary notice.
