Dear Ann Landers,
'm an ardent club worker who spends a great deal of time on the telephone. I can't stand it when women eat while they are talking. That crunching sound over the phone drives me bonkers. The other evening one woman 78 was making so much noise I asked, "How is the celery?" She replied, "I'm not eating celery. It's potato chips." And she continued to crunch. Another woman who tipples frequently speaks with an ice cube in her mouth. This morning she said, "Just a minute. I have to stir this drink." Then I heard the tinkling and the gulping. Am I getting crotchety in my old age, or is it rude to eat and drink while on the phone?-Fuss- Budget

Dear Fuss,
People who munch, crunch, and gulp on the phone are impolite. If it annoys you, speak up, woman.

Our Reader to Reader Question of the Week:

Dear Readers,
, whatever they needed I provided. What really hurt my son and I the most was the obituary - we were not mentioned at all. Our friends (mine and hers) were appalled. I was embarrassed and upset for not just me, but for my son-who loved her also. I never been so upset. Her x-husband put his wife and kids and their grandchildren in the obituary, who my girlfriend barely knew. They live an hour away from us. I know its silly to be mad over a little section of the newspaper, but it still hurts. Will time let this devastating loss of her and this article ever go away? I am so angry at this whole situation, its not like we can go and rewrite an obituary notice.

Tell us what you think?
